Quantum Light Clearing Workshops: Student Attunements

I recently recorded magnetic field (MF) activity and random event generator (REG) output at a Quantum Light Clearing Level 2 workshop taught by shaman/healer LaOta Rassoull  with the assistance of Ellie Stewart. The goal of the Quantum Light Clearing Workshops is to create “clearers”, people who can clear the energy of places, autos and people.

Clearing spaces, also known as ‘space clearing’, has become popular, with numerous published books on Feng Shui, as well as books by psychics who clear homes and spaces for clients. ‘Clearers’ are usually self-taught, so the Quantum Light Clearing Workshops are unique in providing formalized training in space clearing.

Based on her experience training healers, LaOtta has found that students first need to be clear themselves, and the student ‘vibrations’ must be relatively high, before they can heal or clear spaces for other people.

On the first afternoon/evening of the Quantum Light Clearing Workshops, LaOtta gives each student an attunement. Attunement is used in a number of healing traditions, including Reiki.  According to Reiki master Beth Simmons Stapor, “when you receive an attunement to the Reiki energy you are being initiated into the energy.”  From a scientific perspective, no one really knows what is going on during an attunement.

During each attunement, the student and Laota sit facing one another, while lightly touching hands. I placed Hall-type magnetometers on both the right and left sides near to the Laota-student pair.  The MF activity during these attunements was low-amplitude and pretty quiet.  However, spectral analysis of the MF frequencies was very interesting.

For example, if we do a spectral analysis of the MF frequencies on the right and left sides during an attunement, we see peaks at particular frequencies, such 105 Hz on one side, and 90 Hz on the other side:Tavers attune A Tavers attune B

If we chart each of the peak frequencies during 12 student attunements, we get the following:

Attunement frequencies

Each student attunement was 2 to 3 minutes in duration. However, the first 6 attunements were done at a leisurely pace (over 2-1/2 hrs) with Laota introducing each student to the class and highlighting their strengths as a person.  As the time got late (7pm), Laota compressed the last 6 attunements into 1hr, and interestingly, the frequencies shifted upwards, with less difference between the two sides.

The frequency difference between the two sides reminds me of binaural beats, where different sound frequencies are applied to each ear, resulting in a third frequency. Electroencephalogram (EEG) brainwave recordings during binaural beats have found evidence of auditory driving, where the third binaural beat is detectable throughout the brain.  For example, a 530Hz sound applied to one ear and 520Hz applied to the other ear, results in EEG waves at 10Hz (530-520=10).  Binaural beats can alter the mental and emotional state of the listener, with different binaural beats creating different states.

During the Quantum Light Clearing workshop, the first six attunements displayed frequency differences between 10 and 15Hz, which is the alpha frequency range of EEG brainwaves. Alpha waves are associated with relaxed mental states.  I speculate the different magnetic field frequencies on the two sides are entraining the student’s energy field, and possibly their brainwaves, in the alpha range, which may enhance the student’s ability to do clearing work.  In future experiments, it would be interesting to examine the EEG brainwaves of each student during attunement, while also measuring MF activity, to test the hypothesis that attunements are shifting student physiology into a relaxed, receptive state.

  1. First of all I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you
don’t mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself
and clear your mind before writing. I have had trouble
clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted just trying to figure out how
to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Thank you!
